have heard that you can get some crystals?..called something like "out cat" or "off cat"... they are supposed to keep the cats off your flower beds..

good luck
Try moth balls. I always use them. It deters the cats fouling too. Just dot several around the area you want to protect. They are alot cheaper than all those cat repellents from the garden centres etc.
coarse groung pepper
I have found a remedy for this.

I bought a 'sonic system' . It runs of the mains and has a long wire that allows you to position it in the garden.

The unit emits an ultra high-pitch sound ; which only cats can hear.

I think the manufacturer of my unit is Gardman.

I purchased it from a local garden centre and it cost about 20.00.

Its very effective - the cats will not go anywhere near it.

There is a plant called - coleous canina - which does the opposite of catnip. So if you plant some of these in your garden that should keep the cats away. Look it up on the web to see if it suits your needs.
