Hairy Pregnant Girlfriend

Hello

My girlfriend is currently 6 months pregnant but she has recently got a REALLY hairy belly - especially up the middle. She is blonde and most of her belly hair is blond but up the middle, from her bits to her belly button there is really dark long hairs.

Why is this and is it any indication to what sex baby we're having or anything like that? or is she just a weirdo?!

This is very common and is called the Linea negra - caused by hormone imbalance. It disappears when the baby is born.

yep perfectly normal. I loved mine too, it was like a positive pregnancy test :)

It has no relation to what sex your baby will be. My mum had it with all 4 of her children, 3 girls and a boy and i had it with my son.

Mine had gone within about 2 weeks of giving birth.

ooh,,,, I thought the linea negra was what I had when I was pregnant. I didnt have any hair but just a dark line from chest to pubic line. A bit like it hab been drawan in with a brown khol pencil.

I hated mine but mine went within a month of having my babies.

same thing goodsoulette. on some women the hair will grow darker oo.

Very common, yes! however I found that my hair stopped growing when I was pregnant ~ I didn't get the line on my bump and any hair I had on my belly (yes, I am a hairy mary!) disappeared..I didn't have to shave my armpits or legs throughout either.

I always thought it might have been natures way of being kind to me ~ there was no way on earth I couold have reached my legs either..but I still had to tie up my trainer laces!

I had my boyfriend epilating me to hollywood standards when I went into labour. He couldnt understand it. i knew there was gonna be a lot attention there tho. Took my mind off the contractions too.
