what is ccapp on my pc - a virus ?

When I shut down I get a program closing box that says "ccApp" closing down with a bar (like a program closing box)

Is it a virus and is this the reason why my web surfing is sometimes SOO slow ?

I have 1.3amd , 256mb ram and 40gb hd with xp.

Can anyone help ?

ccapp is a part of norton internet security.

Oh, and to further answer your question, no its not a virus but the 256mb of ram could be a major part of your problem. Norton is a HUGE recource hog and 256 is just not near enough. Every once in a while, my other computer will do the same thing with the ccApp but its really nothing to worry about. Like i said it's just Norton.

Devilhunter, I just clicked on the link provided by RIR, if you have not done it already you may want to have a peek. There are things there that i did not know. But i still think yours is from Norton.

I can take up to 3gb on the motherboard according toa crucial scan but do i need that much

Id go with at least 512mb. You can either get a 512mb stick and add it to your 256 for a total of 768mb or get another 256 which is cheaper and add it to your current 256 for the total of 512. I cant promise you miracles but it should make quite a difference. If your computer does not change the virtual memory for you after adding more ram, then you will have to do it. One more thing to keep in mind is that a 1.3 processor is not all that fast either, they cost around $150 here in the states for the 2.4 amd athalon 64 that im using.
