x wife has large lump under arm near breat 4 months now, she only told doc recently, she went tonight to hospitl for scan , she is asian thai and doesnt understand a great deal of english but when i called her to pick her up i asked her what doctors say, she replied she has cancer, told her she doesnt know this and doctors cannot know untill she has a further exan=mination, i read the letter they gave her tonight , she needs further scan and biopsy. the lump is painfull and big.
her mum died of breast cancer as did mine.
what should i do , do i need call doctors and get scan pushed on, no room for anymore waiting around .
advice please. worried here and do not know what to do.

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.OK dd - then a bit more info - found small lump, totally painless - immediately went to GP and was sent for bioposy - three weeks later was operated on - large incision removal and not a masectomy - had radio and chemo therapy (didn't lose my hair!) - refused last round of chemo cos had had enough - that was 15 years ago and have hardly thought of it since. I will add I was lucky to be on private medical however the NHS is pretty good with cases like this now - there will always be horror stories of course but balance it out against the many thousands who have trouble free treatment. Want to know anything else just ask?
Dieseldick - if the doctor thinks this lump is serious your x should be placed on a 2 week wait list and, providing protocol has been followed, she should receive a call within the next couple of days with an appointment for within the next week or two. They don't hang about with suspected cancer these days. Wish you both all the best at this worryokng time.
