xbox 360 vs playstation 3?

Anyone have a comparison between the 2 and which will be best to buy as for the quoted media price for a ps3 you could buy a nice entry level pc .

the 360 will be the best buy.

the PS3 will be the more capable, but will take at least a year before the true performance of the cell processor can even be realised.

most won't appreciate either systems, since you'll need a HDTV to get this.

as stated above,360 is the better buy.altho the ps3 is superior in power,i doubt that this will be too noticable and certainly not worthy of a �500 price tag(this is due to the blu-ray technology).

As the 360 is a microsoft product it has excellent network connectivity which gets even better if you run a media centre pc or will be buying vista early next year.

I'd conjecture that it's too soon to say seeing as the PS3 isn't going to be released till November. The PS3 is more powerful on paper, but it might be a while before this is evident in the games. It is often said that the best console games come towards the end of the console's lifespan and these are the ones that fully utilise the system's capabilities - like Resident Evil 4 for example. You will need a HDTV to fully appreciate the power of either console. But power isn't everything, you might choose which console you're going to buy on the basis of the games. However, as exclusive titles by 3rd parties become more and more rare (everything's multi-format!), such a judgement would be based on the first part titles.

Just buy the console that runs the game(s) you want.

If you don't know what games you want, then don't waste your money on a console, because you would only waste more money buying random mediocre games to justify your initial purchase.

Don't start spending money in video games until you understand that it's only the quality of the games that matter, not the hardware.

The 360 will probably be the best buy since the PS3 that is going to be released some time in November will be shipped over to Europe with a 60Gb hard drive making the price exceed �450. Alternatively the PS3 will also include a 20Gb hard drive but this type will not be available in Europe.

The PS3 is the better console although it isn't worth that much for a blueray disc. Xbox 360 is good for its price and offers just as good quality of graphics.

People will probably go for the 360 and Wii because the Wii is cheap and has an amazing gameplay ability and 360 is an all round good. PS3 has lost this generation.
