I may be getting a recordable DVD player in the future and I was wondering how I would go about transferring my taped TV shows (from VHS on my video machine) to recordable DVD discs?

If you are buying a standalone dvd recorder then you can do it the same way as you would copy vhs to vhs. Take a scart from your video recorder and put it into the scart of the dvd recorder. Then its just a matter of cueing up the video - then play on the video and record on the dvd recorder. Depending on the setting you have selected on the dvd recorder the result will vary in quality. The best result you will get is a dvd with vhs video and sound quality.
