Does anyone know a way of removing dried tree sap from car paintwork without causing any damage?

The roof of my car is covered in the stuff due to a large overhanging tree in the car park.

Car washed three times all to no avail.

In anticipation.

Turtle Wax Bug and tar remover (Halfords)
Car Valeter, First damp the car thoroughly then use degreaser, then rewash the car.
The longer it's there, the harder the job and it'll start to etch into the clear (top) coat. It's the one case where you should use very hot water to break the sap down.
Try WD-40.

Plenty of hot water and good wax additive. Don't use washing up liquid.
