Transfering All My Old Files To New Laptop

my old laptop is an acer aspire e1-571 running windows 10
my new laptop is ACER Aspire E15 E5-573 windows 10
is there an easy way as possible to transfer all my files to my new laptop

Any idea what the total size of the files is, as this might make a difference as to which method to use??

I'm unsure how easy it is to connect the two via a cable and have one see the drives of the other: but one way that should work would be to plug in an external drive, copy to it, then plug it into the over laptop and copy from it.

It makes sense to buy an external portable hard drive to back up all your files and copy them to the new machine.

This means you will have a reliable back of all your files on the portable hard drive which will save you lot of grief if you lose your new machine or the hard disk fails. It's not a problem to back up your files regularly.

thx for your reply's chaps...decided to put things on manually on new laptop to be honest i only need a quarter of the stuff from my other laptop so not taking to long
