Worst video? Depends on the criteria you use, but all those videos that just show a band playing in a plain white studio are pretty boring: 'Six' by Mansun and 'Stutter' by Elastica spring to mind as examples.
Mark the word is heifer and she is a witty, articulate person who can sing.....just because she is not a size ten mewling freak like most pop acts doesn't give a no score the right to bad mouth her.....
Best vid.....Dire Straits..Money for Nothing
Worst vid...Fat Boy Slim..Praise You
Though I was tempted to put in the DJ Sammy video for Heaven as the singer is a babe!
Right now, the Boogie Pimps have to have the best one! I actually liked Praise You (sorry, SFT42). Thought it was different and a bit 'out there'. And whilst we're on the subject of the Fatboy, I thoroughly enjoyed Weapon of Choice (is that what it was called?) with Christopher Walken. My other favourites include DD's Rio (I remember it looking so cool at the time), the Manson boy's Tainted Love (mock-Gothic anyone?), Queen's I Want to Break Free (is Roger Taylor the prettiet cross-dresser ever?), The Young Ones with Cliff Richard doing Living Doll (hilarious but never shown these days) and the Kate Bush one that had Donald Sutherland in it (very weird). Worst one? Westlife's muderous rip-off of Uptown Girl.
Hmmm... I know American country music isn't everyone's cup of tea, but Garth Brooks is one of many "New Country" performers who are successfully stretching the boundaries of their traditional category into something completely different. Check out the original video for his song "The Red Strokes" and tell me you're not totally gobsmacked by its flair, imagination and brilliant originality...
