Just a couple of points. The sentence of 5 years 6 months is significant!
As it is over 5 years it can never become a 'spent' conviction.
The law inside a prison is exactly the same as outside. A crime outside is a crime 'inside'.
He is a British citizen born in the UK so he can not be deported.
