Just seen the sports update ....Andy Murray out of the US Open...

I can only assume that he was mentally fatigued after a terrific run of success from the last few months, which is about as good a reason as any to get thrown off by a gong sound. Showed some spirit to keep the final set close from breaks down, but wasn't to be. Nishikori able to hold himself together in the end and made the most of Murray's frailty but all the same I felt that Murray lost this match rather a lot more than Nishikori winning it.
Oh, well. Murray's had a great season so far, and there's still potential to win another title and maybe pressure Djokovic later for #1. Hopefully he can take the break he needs now and recover mentally.
