The Demise Of English Football.
7 Answers
I don't think any of this is new to anyone but the transfer window and the influx of foreign players into the Premier League will eventually lead to England becoming a third rate nation in footballing terms. Think Latvia, Albania, Algeria, Cyprus, Malta, Greece, Bosnia etc and that's where the strength of the Premier League is sending English football. Eventually, we will be represented by players from Leagues 1 and 2. It will be an achievement to even qualify for major tournaments never mind winning one. We've seen in the past few years how England can't compete after qualifying. If anyone thinks otherwise then they are surely just dreaming.

How is an influx of foreign players to the Premier League going to improve England performances? England is certainly not first rate and by their showing in the recent Euro competition cannot even be said to be second rate, having lost to a bunch of amateurs. If anything they must show a marked improvement before they deserve the accolade of “third rate”.

It always amazes me why people are so aurprised and outraged when England fail at international level when players in the top clubs are dominated by overseas players. It's impossible to produce home grownworld class players in these conditions. Don't blame the poor manager entirely; even Alf Ramsey would have failed with this present lot.
