If the collectors are genuine volunteers who have their own full time job , they are no going to be home before 5.30 pm anyway. So if they have to go out collecting it can't be much before 7pm.

I have a no canvassers etc sticker on my door..works.. I avoid chuggers like the plague or dismiss with a no thank you..they are quite harassing and intimidating on the street..and PAID to collect bank details..which I would NEVER give out...same with Big Issue..those that stand quietly I give to.particularly Sally Army and Cancer/Alzheimers/Diabetes charities...I ended up blocking UNESCO after I made the mistake of making a phone donation, calling at 5am is NEVER acceptable.....

I can't stand the chuggers. I once walked past 5 or 6 of them in a space of about 10 metres. It was harassment. I am always polite, I just say "no, sorry". But I felt quite intimidated.

I haven't had anyone come to the door asking for money in a long time.
