The arrogance of the EUphiles never ceases to amaze me. Hungary you'll be better off out anyway. History will look back at these times as the beginning of the end of the EU.

All dissention must be ruthlessly put down. aog did touch on the subject yesterday but had no takers it seems. It may be that all of the Visegrad 4 will eventually leave.

There lies the problem for the less powerful contributing countries, they get some use out of capitulating to the EU and need to think carefully over the SWOT analysis of standing up for themselves. It is fair enough that if in a club you stick by the club rules or leave, but the club should not legislate over issues that are none of its concern.
I think AOG got little response because folk would have thought, "Oh good for Hungry" and not followed up the link. I know I did.
The sooner countries get together and create a parallel trade block for Europe, that concentrates purely on facilitating trade, the better.

It just reinforces what many could see i this country, total and utter arrogance of the EU (AKA Merkel/Germany and the collaborators).
I've said it before I know, but I really think the only reason there was not another attempt at war with Germany is because they were achieving by stealth what they failed to do by two world wars.
It is inevitable that the EU will change once proud countries like Hungary realize just how much the EU wants from them: Total subordination.

It is a declining dinosaur which faces (and seems unable to deal with) huge problems, many of which it has created itself by its absolutely ridiculous policies. It will perhaps (though I could not be certain) one day dawn on them that, although they believe they are in the driving seat, they are in a fifty year old car that is rusting away and heading for the knackers' yard.
"Hungary is not far away from issuing orders to open fire on refugees," he suggested.
The way the migrant crisis is facing up, that may not be too far from necessity. In Calais and the surrounding areas illegal immigrants are becoming increasingly violent in their quest to reach the UK. Cars are having large objects thrown at them from bridges, lorries are having trees felled before them. It is no longer a matter of “if” but rather “when” somebody gets killed. Opening fire on them may be the only way to prevent the mayhem escalating still further.
Quite frankly Hungary would be better off out. The advantages it has from EU membership are completely overwhelmed by their having to accede to EU rules which are causing huge problems. Best for them to leave, join the UK in any trading arrangements it would like to take part in and start taking control of its own affairs. I still laugh at the Euromaniacs whenever I see things like this. They threaten expulsion as if it is some sort of Sword of Damocles to hang over a nation’s head. In fact it is the best thing that could happen to any member nation.

But will Hungary's govt jump at the chance to cast of the shackles of tolerance and valiantly plough its own ultra nationalistic furrow, into the sunny uplands of paradise.
Er, no they won't :-)

I'm with Jackdaw - just expel us and save a lot of trouble. Having seen the evolution I would now be prepared to shout for 'Activate Article 50 Now!'
Thing is, it's just the enemy in Brussels that is the hard problem. We can get along quite happily with French, Germans et al.. Brussels is really the '4th Reich'. I await the flak, but I am convinced that I am right.

I agree Jourdain, nothing has changed in the EU in the 40 years of its ruling it will not shift from its original mandate, while all hell is breaking loose around them, they still insist on free movement. I don't blame Hungary at all, some drastic action has to be taken soon. Also with regard to the camp at Calais and the safety of the people passing through to the docks. The EU is a Dodo it is not working to protect its members for all the money they take from them.
//I wonder if it would be worth not loading or unloading at Ashford and Calais for a period, and moving the two hubs either side of the tunnel to Ebbsfleet and Lille. But first beef up the security and facilities there, the Calais problem would dissipate and also give Ashford a breather to gather her skirts. Something has got to be done for sure. There would be some initial disruption but we have that now anyway.( with no prospect of it improving) Then after a period of sorting out Calais when the migrants move away, as they would, re-open it. But make sure that it is never again threatened as now. //
