Stopping Auto Start Of Videos
5 Answers
Two related video type issues that is driving me nuts.
a) I go to some newspaper sites that include a video in their article and on playing it, it finally finishes and then the site seems to think it absolutely hilarious to load and play some thing else; like anyone would ever want to pay for video data they've not asked for out of their allowance.
b) Firefox likes to slow to a crawl or even crash out sometimes. For sure I have a lot of tabs open but they are things I want to go back to. So one closes it via Task Manager and opens, and restores. then all the tabs open on a video page, YouTube or whatever, opts to play the associated video (all at once) and one has to go searching for the offending tabs and try to stop them. Why does this happen and more importantly what can be done to stop auto playing it (the switch at the top left of YouTube pages is already set to autoplay off).
As I write I also recall a further issue. Sometimes when a video is blocked it starts the audio without the video, which is hardly any use. Again any thoughts on correcting that ?
Cheers.
