Glazed Look

Before I put myself in the hands of potential conmen, can anybody give me an idea how much double glazing costs. Two kitchen windows 5'x4' approx supplied and fitted. Basic stuff required just to keeo draught out. Any realistic ideas?

Apparently there a company who will do all the research for you. They measure up and spec what you need, and then get quotes on your behalf. I believe they get paid by the suppliers. I will try to find out who they are for you.

Birchy - I am told that the Bouble Glazing Advisory Board (or something like that) should be able to help. Do get a second opinion though, because they may not be as independant as they seem!!

Consider buing the windows from somewhere like Wickes who are very reasonably priced, but the range and size is limited. If successful, getting someone to fit them should prove straight forward and should not cost you much, provided you don't live somewhere like London. Perhaps you know someone who knows someone who can do this for you.

Like most things, can you find someone who has used a company and can recommend them to you? That is the safest and easiest way to proceed.

I recently did some researching and found local small company a lot cheaper and are only doing what I need One window at a time if need be. I would check out local companies and ask around your area

Thanks all. I've checked out all recommendations, and the local firm comes out cheapest......but I will attempt to find somebody else what's used them.
