Thesaurus Books

do any ABers know which thesaurus has the most entries? i am currently using the oxford paperback version and find that there are lots of words that are not listed. it is very frustrating!

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.The problem with seeking a decent printed thesaurus is that, with so many online sources now available, nobody really finds it worth the vast amount of work which has to go into producing one.
I still love my Roget's though, backed up by the hardback Oxford Thesaurus.
Otherwise you'll probably need to use online resources such as Thesaurus.com

An excellent 'middle ground' solution though, using a program actually installed on your computer (rather than an online resource) is the free version of TheSage. It's what I use when compiling crosswords or seeking crossword answers for AB members. I wouldn't be without it!
