Is There A Safe Tool To Optimise Xp

I ran an anti virus programme for my Dell GX 540 running windows XP and was advised to "optimise" the computer. Looked up "optimise" on a search engine and was directed to articles dealing with the subject. As usual, couldn`t understand them. So is there a safe tool to download to deal with this please?

You run two of Windows own tools - file cleaner and defrag both somewhere in accessories. As XP is obsolete and unsupported it is inherently insecure anyway.
