\\\\\They will not be satisfied until they have dismantled it altogether & have an American style health system\\\
Ron how would that work?
If it was in the Tory Manifesto, the Tories would be "dead in the water" it would be electoral suicide. // Just be patient & watch this space !!!

good idea IMO...there are private facilities who already offer it and I believe that it gets used from cruise ships too....only one small step on from the very helpful telephone appointments wth the benefit that you can actually show the rash, lump injury and so on....for me, I would have to tidy a bit of the house first though!!
A new GP recently arrived at my local surgery. In relation to telephone appointments I was recently given a specific time when I would get a call.
When I didn't get a call half an hour later, I phoned the surgery and was told that the GP had her 'own system' that even they didn't know how she worked and when I would be contacted but that it would be 'sometime in the afternoon'. My 3.30 appointment call came at 5.50.
Punctuality is a vice of mine! GP's frequently run late but why be given a specific time for a system like this?

To clarify: by weekend I meant pre booked appointments. Clearly if you are sick you would dial the out of hours doctors or attend A&E depending on the severity.
At present those that work, and pay for it, are the second class citizen as the whole process is geared against them. Reserving a few hours for them surely does not warrant accusations of them being a high class citizen?
Or would you prefer they used a days holiday or lost production for the UK?
