Refund Of Cancelled Orders

Hi, when I emailed a firm I ordered from on line after their 3-5 day delivery had been passed, they replied to say they were sorry but they were moving premises and the order had not gone out yet and they weren't sure when it would be done! Apologised for not letting me know, but why wouldn't they at least keep me informed? I then asked them to cancel the order which they agreed to and said they would refund the money.

How long should I give them to expect the money to be refunded to my card as they took it on the day of the order yet knew they weren't going to process it for a while?

3-7 working days is the standard time given for refunds.
It usually takes 3 - 4 days for it to be processed and show on your card statement. Could take 2 further days if weekend is involved.
I have just had similar experience with a pet food firm and became suspicious after no sign of arrival of goods within their stated time and no email communication only a chatline so I cancelled and asked for an immediate refund. Thankfully the amount was credited back to my account but I am still suspicious and will not use the company again.

Thank you for your answers I did think I would give them at least six days, if no show then will email them but I have a feeling about this one somehow... Like you furrypusscat...I'm suspicious about this and having read some reviews on them since....I'm hoping I'm wrong...i don't know what to do if money not refunded as it's an amount just just £100. I don't need this stress either...
Did you pay on a credit card. If so the card company should repay you the full amount. See below.

as they say above or longer

one damn-it-all firm told me that cancellation on non arrival so long as it did arrive after wards was not actionable - and they were almost right ! - but I got my money back in the end after a long tussle (small claims )

and so the one above with the pet food firm was probably acting wisely

read furry cats URL ( yes I know this is chaddabank) carefully....
credit cards are protected under the 1975 act ( credit consumer act ) but charge debit cards may not be ( coz they arent credit cards see ? )

o god I see they have had two more acts 2006 2010 since 1974

o the one I had trouble with ?
the credit card section on the net didnt work
so you had to pay up from with a debit card ....
yes very very suspicious .....
