Mirror this Morning, Elderly lady attacked by a Seagull because the Gull's dead chick was in her garden.Yes I know these birds are Protected but there's a limit.

Poor thing had lost its child, is in a group hated by large sectors of society, has been thrown out of its natural habitat by human influence and forced to scavenge in the cities.
I'd have cut it some slack, probably let it off with the offer of anger management classes.

I would have walked it a gooden with a handy stick or bat.

While I don't like attacking any animal or bird, I would naturally just try to fend it off as best as I could if it was attacking me, but I certainly wouldn't want to harm it in any way, after all I'm bigger than it!

It's a wonder the species survived (unless of course, humans showing no ability to win a fight with one, has given it the idea that it is higher up the pecking order; but we couldn't possibly be that stupid).
