http://m.nationalrail.co.uk/pj/disruption (mobile site) or just go to nationalrail.co.uk and they list known disruptions and weekend engineering works etc.

basingstoke to cosham
this weekend's major works in the south-east region are at selhurst and streatham. so (as you probably found out), for a journey from basingstoke to cosham, bertie the bus remained locked away in his garage.
