Regrets are simply opportunities waiting to be seized.
I thought you meant advice to your youger self. Since it's to our present selves, I'd say "Relax, for goodness sake. There's nothing terribly wrong here."
"To be more decisive, possibly."

Genius.
well I did go and work in Araby in 1978

it badly derailed my wonderful career - but others went onto be wage slaves and altho I looked at them I never really regretted it

the recent grammar school progz set out clearly how bad some young people's decisions were and also how clearly some hadnt realised how appallingly bad their decisions were at 14 (leave skool and get low paid jobs and stay there)
I am just launching into the 500 page; ‘Werner Herzog, a Guide for the Perplexed’. It is a series of conversations over several years between the German filmmaker, Herzog and the author, Paul Cronin. After a lengthy introduction by Cronin, the first question was, “Can you offer any general insights for the readers so they might sleep easier at night?”. Herzog; “Let me say this, something for human beings everywhere, whether they be filmmakers or otherwise. I can answer your question only by quoting hotel mogul Conrad Hilton, who was once asked what he would like to pass on to posterity. ‘Whenever you take a shower’ he said, ‘always make sure the curtain is inside the tub’. I sit here and recommend the same. Never forget the shower curtain."
Try not to be so direct, never works though, people know me for my direct answers.
O some passing skool kid got grandfatherly advice unwanted of course.

"Turn up to school, you have no idea how hard it is to plug back in to access or college education later on in your twenties"

he looked at me as tho I were a Martian

[ having difficulty in getting a 25 y o to access "Access" - he kinda didnt learn Math at skool because he didnt turn up then. Access courses have already started so he will have to wait until October 2017. An observer might observe that he obviously didnt turn up to access either]
Thanks for your replies folks, getting a bit old now
