Acer Aspire Touchpad
6 Answers
I have an Acer Aspire One 722 notebook using Windows 7. I have not used it for a while but I am having to use it while my main PC is being fixed. The machine is fine but I cannot get the touchpad to work so I am using a cordless mouse.
I have checked that I have not toggled it off with the Fn F7 buttons and I am wondering what other avenues I could look at to get this working again.

Try reinstalling the touchpad driver:
Firstly you'll need to know whether your machine has an Elantech touchpad or a Synaptics one. (Acer used both in the AO722). You can either seek the information from the Device Manager (via your Control Panel) or you can download and run this file to give you the same information:

If it's a Synaptics touchpad you'll need this file:

If it's an Elantech one you'll need this file:

Download the touchpad driver installation file.
Double-click on it to run it.
Restart your machine.
Cross your fingers!
