Getting Rid Of Grey Facial Hairs With A Laser Etc
6 Answers
well i just cant win can i?
after years of facial hair - (black hair, olivey toned skin - polycystic ovaries) - the hairs were black, thick and all in the wrong places - ie, my top lip etc
i've been using a laser and it seems to be working - i had to blast them as they're worse than normal - but now im finding that there are a few white/grey hairs there - which apparently a laser will not work on - they need to be dark for it to 'see' them, i guess.
so although there are hardly any dark ones left, i can 'feel' the white ones when i lick my lick or run my finger over it!! arrghh
any ideas what i can do to remove permanently? - i plucked for years but because of the way they are i always end up with red marks and little scabs etc as they're hard to pluck so would rather not have to keep doing that!
i did think to colour them - but you are supposed to shave before hand anyway so bit pointless
also thought maybe using a fineliner pen to 'dot' the follicle and darken it enough for the laser to 'see' it - but i dont know if i am missing the point of it only working on dark hair and that it has nothing to do with 'seeing' it - and so this would be pointless - i have no idea
any ideas?
thanks
sorry for waffling

I bought a Rio scanning laser and have been using it, it is not as powerful but I will keep going.
I have some hard wiry thick hairs like you - fair coloured. I think electrolysis might be worth a try.
Like you I have PCOS and have weight problems due to insulin problems. I am now diabetic and just about hitting the menopause.
My hair problem was horrendous to start with but it is just annoying. Most of the hair is gone.
Maybe you might find a source of help on the PCOS website, I think it's called verity.
