Radiator Scrap Value

We have removed 2 ( leaking ) radiators, one 2m and one 3m
Do they have any value as scrap if I get the local scrap man
to take them or should I just be grateful if someone takes them away

If you take them to your local scrapper you may get a Fiver for them, I would take them to the recycling Depot, then they are out of your way.

Steel scrap is worth around £150 per Tonne (15p a Kg)at the moment.
So a radiator is worth about 75p. Once the cost of transport is added in it you will be lucky if someone will collect it free. You may well have to take it to the nearest tip to get rid of it.

TWR when did you last look at the price of scrap steel? You would get a few £s for a radiator if it was made of Copper or Aluminium but not for a normal steel one.

No idea whereabouts you are, but in my area (near Heathrow) if you leave anything metal outside your house (as long as it's not on the pavement !) we can guarantee that a "totter" will have it gone in a couple of days !

I just left one outside on the drive next to the pavement and came home to find someone had kindly taken it. Saved me going to the tip. We have a rag and bone man now though who eagerly takes the smallest bit of metal

I was way too high on my price, scrap cast iron which is what an old radiator is, has dropped to £70 a Tonne or 7p a Kilo!You will probably have to pay to get rid of it unless you take it to a tip yourself !
