User IDs
I have been told that I have a good suggestion ~ what would you think about having a system with IDs in the same way sites like ebay have...your user ID can be changed (but only every 90 days) and your old user ID can be checked though an icon next to your ID.
It has come to my attention that some greenies are being questioned regarding their IDs and it can make them feel rather uncomfortable ~ especially if they are being accused of being a nasty type of user!
Hope this makes sense :o)

Basically, a facility for people to look up previous IDs connected to an ID. So if you changed yours, it would say something like I~DUNNO with a little icon next to it. By clicking on the icon we could see that you were previously BOO.
If the icon isn't possible, then just a way to find out previous IDs would be good.
Sorry if this explanation is just as bad as the last ;o)
Pippa that is a good suggestion.
When I first started using AB they didn't have such thing as greenies. I think ED had to introduce this because of the multiple usernames. Also, just from my experience of AB, I found it by googling for something to do with a song, I was directed to this site. I only ever used to go on Film&TV and Music, it took me a while before I ventured into any other topics.
I think this is why people are suspicious of B&S greenies, they always seem to know alot more about certain people on there.
Well I for one have never hid from the fact that I used to be Liverpoollou, but because of me being too honest with my username I got slagged off alot of the time, so I wrote to Ed and asked first to be removed from the site, but she sent a nice e-mail back saying, you can keep the same e-mail address but with a different username.
It seems to me that it shouldn't be made easier to change your ID; we should keep to the current procedure of making a request to ABEd.
Genuine requests for ID changes appear to be for the very reason of distancing yourself from the original ID, so why have it follow you around?
However there is no reason why a changed ID need be green like a newbie. It could quite easily be blue or any other colour.
