This happened with my friend. She bought a phone because it said that she would have unlimited free calls at any time. When she got her first bill she was surprised to see that she had been charged for most of them, at peak rate.

When she contacted the company she was told that the free calls were only to phones also with their company.

A carefully worded letter from a member of her family who worked for trading standards soon ensured her a refund and cancellation of the contract. Either threaten to contact TS or else email them for advice.

They have to honour it at the cost at the time of purchase. Regardless of whether it was a mistake or not.
I believe the law is that they have to honour the offer. Only mistakes that are obviously mistakes (EG 48 inch plasma TV for 9.99) are exempted, on the grounds that the purchaser must have realised the offer was an error.
Check out the trading standards website - I think you will find they have to stand up to whatever they offered. Its not your fault, its their mistake and they have to cough up
