Why Are Fireworks Being Sold So Early

Last night I was reading and very relaxed with my cat beside me and all of a sudden there were really loud fireworks going off my poor cat was very upset it was only the 17th October yesterday. I was in Morrisons yesterday and there was a stall selling them already. I think its ridiculous apart from the financial reasons why is this happening

Luckily my cat isn't scared of them but my dog was terrified and use to try and sit on our heads. I'd end up wrapping him a blanket and hold him like a big baby.

The problem here and as in so many cases, is the misuse. I don't mind fireworks but I certainly object when they are stuffed through my letterbox as they were last year.

Where I am we celebrate with Fireworks for one night only, will be 30-10 this year and we try to keep disturbance to others to a minimum by using a local car-park

We try and make sure local pet owners, include a lot of us, and older people are aware of what we are doing and when, afterward we will mutter mutter along with the rest of our neighbours about the time Bonfire night celebrations are stretched out over.

hc, often it doesn’t work because dogs can tell the difference between real and recorded noise. I know I have said this before but one of the favourite dogbeds in my house is right next to a very large TV. Whoever has it will sleep right through televised storms, war films and fireworks, yet one real firework in the distance will start them both off panicking.

For any of you on Facebook, there is a page called FAB who are campaigning for a limitation on the number of days in a year that fireworks can be used. They are asking for the number of days to be limited to 10 to cover Diwali, Guy Fawkes, Christmas and New Year. It was that group whose petition triggered the debate in parliament this year. They are also supporters of “quiet” fireworks and organised displays.

There were some huge ones going off at weekend near me, after the initial surprise, I put on an extra layer and popped outside to watch.

They only lasted a few minutes, maybe a Birthday bash??

Before a certain date (say 31st) Oct, fireworks that explode without a bang can only be sold.....just a thought.
