What colour do I paint

Hi,

I just recently bought bedding in a dark chocolate brown. My bedroom is small (10' x 9'), has a window, my bedroom furniture is a very light pine colour and the flooring is a pretty light wood, can I paint my walls chocolate brown?

If you did it would be very dark. I don't think a room that size could take that colour. A compromise would be to maybe paint one wall that colour with the rest in a contrasting colour, like a cream or biscuit.

I love rasperry with chocolate brown, but again that could be dark.

As *********** said - one wall in a dramatic colour, the rest light.

You can paint your walls any colour you like but I suspect chocolate brown will make the room seem horribly dark and gloomy and even smaller than it is. Just think what it will look like on a grey November day when there isn't much light. Lighter colours make a room look bigger. Darker colours make it seem smaller.
I'd be tempted to go for cream shades to countact the dark chocolate bedding. Then at least if you replace the bedding you won't have to repaint the walls to a different colour to tone in.

I've got biscuit/beige walls with chocolate bedding,amd creams in amongst too!!

3 walls of plain white with an accent wall of mid cream. Simple is best and will enlarge the look of the room and allow some colour form nice simple prints and the fabrics.
