Does this not scare you? I mean immigrant children doesnt scare me but most of these people look middle aged. So to put these refugees with children is really scary for me.

But then again this is what they want to do. Scare us. the politicians want us to be scared to divert our attention from the coming nuclear war.

What do you think? Scared? Happy for the children? Or can you see this is a distraction?

I must say, looking at the photographs, I wouldn't describe the majority of them as " children."
Teenagers or young men would be a better description.

No ...not scared....apprehensive maybe for their own future as well as the community.....and no, I cannot see this as a distraction.
as a cross section of society they all seem to be males of a certain age bracket.
I do agree that some look older than 14-17, but I am a terrible judge of age. I was interviewed recently after I witnessed a crime and described one of the two offenders (now guilty) as probably 19. Turns out they were 15 and 16.

The old cynic in me cant help but think there is some sneaky reporting going on by the DM (although I know they would NEVER do that). Their headline says it all really "The first Calais 'children' arrive in Britain: Migrants who claim to be aged 14 to 17 are reunited with their families in the UK as French prepare to demolish Jungle camp". The use of the inverted commas round "children" and the word "claim" indicates what they really believe and then they use appropriate pictures to back it up. But I am just an old cynic.

I do accept that there will be older people claiming to be children, but then I would if I was in their situation.

what if tin foil hats for conspiracy theorists are because the corporations want to sell more tinfoil ??
Let us hope that in the future we will not come to regret letting in these young men, as we did when we sent back the whole of the Libyan cadets from Bassingbourn barracks in Cambridgeshire?
am glad ukan that I'm not the only one worrying about nuclear war :(

The UK people in general - and its successive governments in particular - regretting treatment of foreigners? With all our experience of marching into their countries and murdering their civilians, and then wondering where people like ISIS come from?

Surely not!!!

There is a false flag attack imminent even though photos have been taken of the plot. In just the way ISIS still exists even after the videos have been proven to be fake.

Its all part of the plan. We will see which cities are the ones to go though!

I am sure I am not alone when I say that I haven't the faintest idea what you are talking about.
I was serving in the RAF at the time of the Cuban crisis when the possibility of a nuclear war was a very real threat. Being on a station that was flying nuclear warplanes, we knew we were a target but we realised there was absolutely nothing we could do about it, whether we worried or not, so we stopped worrying. I suggest you do the same.
Are there any girls amongst the 'children' from Calais? Seems like all young males in the 18 to 25 age range in the pictures.

sir.prize profoundly said!

vulcan I dont really worry about it but lets face it if the human race woke up from its deep sleep and did the same as iceland we wouldn't be living under this constant threat. So if you can change anything its worth worrying about. But it looks like everyone else's minds are made up with no compromise to their beliefs. Because no one will ever do any wrong to anyone... lol
I lived throughout WW2 and if there were to be a WW3, I am sure it would be shorter than the 5 years we endured.

An perhaps no one would use nuclear weapons in WW3, as no one used gas in WW2 although we were all issued with gas masks.

Yes I know the Americans used atomic bombs against Japan, but then Japan did not possess a deterrent in those days.

I wouldn't take too much notice of that link UKA, the same Uniformed person appears in 4 photographs and is aged at 41, 51, 52 and 62, so not impressed.
Middle age is surely the middle third of your life, between being young and old. If life expectancy is about 87, that makes middle age 29 to 58 ?
Talbot, I think they're the children most of us expected. This is a complete farce.
Didn't we all Talbot. Maybe that's what the authorities were hoping we'd think.
But strictly speaking folk don't get considered adult enough to vote until 18 so 17 and lower is one definition of "child" (although I'd suggest it combines childhood and adolescence).
