Would you rather she adopted the standard lefty approach and ignored the vote? Yes you would. I think she is to be commended for tackling this issue even though she is not 100% in favour of Brexit personally.
In this case I'm somewhat exaggerating what she may have thought. Perhaps she was merely lukewarm in favour of staying. It doesn't overly matter, as I am not saying that the PM shouldn't pursue Brexit. What I mean is that it seems odd that she has become so enthusiastic about it, and appears to have ignored whatever concerns she might have had. "We're doing this but we're going to be careful about it" wouldn't be that unreasonable an approach, surely?
well maybe it's just dawned that she's about to become the first PM to actually be our leader since Ted Heath! I think Tezza was a bit on the fence really, didn't get involved on any side really and perhaps sees the political benefit in actually delivering the will of the people rather than trying come up with ways of putting the kybosh on it.
Jim, //What I mean is that it seems odd that she has become so enthusiastic about it, and appears to have ignored whatever concerns she might have had.//
Why does that seem odd? Put yourself in her position. Would you think it right to do as the majority of the electorate wanted you to do - or would you do as you, personally, preferred to do?

Yes it is !.....Mrs May and her Party were very much for REMAIN, as this leaked speech shows. Now she has "changed her mind"
Its also shows how strongly she felt about REMAIN, even though her support for the official Tory Party policy was less then fulsome before the 23rd June.
If that is not a U-turn, then what is ?

It's not a U-Turn, the beloved phrase of the ant British, it is reacting to the current parameters of the situation. The government of any hue must react to the game in front of it not stick to past evaluations. I hate this silly phrase when applied to any side, I never use it myself. I do not want a government that cannot react to circumstance because of dogma.
