Uber Drivers Dispute, Could This Spread
14 Answers
to other taxi firms around the UK, who have self-employed drivers?
I dont know how it works with Uber, but most firms charge the owner taxi driver a weekly rent, for giving out the work, with no holiday pay etc.
I suppose taxi fares will be going up then.

Drivers had to buy their own radio, Insurance, Criminal check certificate, illuminated roof taxi sign, taxi logo door stickers, etc, which all in all wasn't cheap.
I had to work 80+ hours a week to make a decent living, and if you were off the road 2/3 days, you still had to pay the weekly rent.
