Does anyone remember visiting this pool? If you were around Beds/Herts/Bucks growing up you may do. It popped into my head so I googled it; heartbreaking what I came up with though

We only went the once sunflower!

My husband dived in & the water was soooo cold, he nearly had a heart attack & I'm not joking. We promptly got dressed & went elsewhere!!!!

Everyone we knew who'd visited it, said that water was far too cold for comfort, so I'm not surprised how it ended up. ;o{

Oh lordy - and Ruislip Lido before it went all down hill?

And what about the pool at Burnham Beeches? Did you ever get to that one? With the rides outside and the nightclub, a proper cafe, .....

nickmo my mum says I learnt to swim at burnam Beeches, I just can't remember it so well. Smudge you are right it was SOOO cold in there but for some reason it was an utter treat to go there. They had chips in cones, I remember them!

Hi sunflower - I think I remember seeing you there!......(tee hee) Burnham B. was a brilliant pool - funky freeform shape, the huge fields at the back for sunbathing and a kick about, the slide and a good snack bar as well. All in really nice scenery in the Beeches and then get scared witless on the rusty rides as well. Great place...

Been built on now though, so no more fun there.....

Hey ho, back to the real world now..
