Poor Sally associates the dark with fear and loud noises. Now,as soon as I get her coat,jn stead of wiggling with happiness...she's trembling. And does so all evening. As for eating...that seems to go out the window...she may finally have her food super late.
My body clock is struggling, l've woken early each morning since the weekend, unable to sleep any longer than day break. But I do love the lighter mornings and its not long before we get to 21st and the shortest day. Once that is behind us, we've turned a corner on the way to spring.
In the meantime lets enjoy the apples, parsnips and butternut squash!
I love it! An extra hour in bed and (t.b.h.) it's better than the gradual descent into darkness. I'm used to switching on the light already - and there are the lighter hours in Spring to look forward to.
When I lived in France, the response to any comment was a shrug and 'C'est l'hiver' then in Spring it was 'C'est l'ete' - with another shrug! Fine by me.:)
I also like the winter months now, because it means I don't have to go to work for a while until spring. Hooray!
I found it tough when my son was young though. It's hard to get little children used to the change in times. When you used to wake up at six to the human alarm clock, it's now five.
