It's really starting to bug me the way that some programs leading into a commercial break tell me. . . "and coming up". Stop it I'm watching the dam program. Then after the ad break we get. . . "earlier in the show". I know I bloody watched it. Is it just me or am I turning into a moaning old git. Please advise.
One of my guilty pleasures is 'Can't pay we'll take it away' but they're one of the worst culprits. Cut out the 'coming up' and 'earlier' bits and it could be a half hour programme!
What irks me is how they say something-or-other is next, then the ad break ends and they've lied. What is next is the next part of the programme I've just been watching !
I couldn't agree more, zabado. I've noticed that when they are "trailing" the new programme, This Time Next Year, they have already revealed one of the transformations!!!!!!!
We Don't Want To Know, Now!!!!!!!!! We Want To Watch The Programme when it, airs. Grrrrrrrr.
I've mentioned this before. Mitchell and Webb did a good spoof of this type of thing a few years ago. Look on YouTube for The Gift Shop sketch. Very funny and covers exactly what you're talking about, zabado.
What I've started doing is recording all my favourite programs then watch them later and fast forward through the "coming up, & earlier in the show" bits. That way of course no ads either. In fact I can now watch an hour long program in about 40 minutes.
