just wondered whether its ok to work while geting statutory sick pay from an employer and temping and the same time?

Are there any complications?

Finally, I have been threatened verbally and physically and was threatened wi having ma throat cut because a claimant didn�t like what he was being telt and I have been intimidated.

I am very fortunate in having a job and not having to go through the day-to-day experiences of the claimants but I am one of the human faces they seen and I know I did a bloody good job so don�t you dare say I know nothing about the real world.

fifi thanks for the support. I see from the HMRC site here there's a P11 CD-ROM available to help you complete the return but you maybe know about it already.

Corbyballoon clearly with your over inflated ego you assume that if you don't know about it it can't exist. SSP is a recoverable benefit and the recovered amount is identified on my balance sheet. Maybe you need to talk to a decent tax accountant!

gammaray do me a favour, have a look at the 10th posting and point out any error in what I said about SSP as I am sure HMRC will be interested in it too.

Can you post a link to anywhere on the HMRC site where it states that SSP is always recoverable?

Gammaray - If your 'decent tax accountant' is recovering SSP at 100% despite the threshold equation - you might think about following you own advice....as you might find its YOU and no one else commiting the 'fraud'.....especially if they check your payroll records. xxxxx

I'm not wrong! Neither are my accountants breaking UK law. Meerly exploiting a loophole in recovering costs agains capital losses. I'm sure corbyloon stands by the advice he doles out, day in day out, but fortunately I don't pay him to give tax advice. Now, if that's all, I'm off to the Caymens to count my money!!

fifi when gammaray called me "corbyballoon" I started to worry that this was the sign of a person well used to the daily cut and thrust of a well constructed argument, honed in the Boardroom of a major British (International even?) business and the big guns were being brought out.

I'm still waiting for the next round but maybe gammaray is too busy looking for a better accountant.

If you or yir accountant don't know the basics of the SSP system I wouldn't book yir tickets yet gammaray....
