Hi everyone - the annual shoebox appeal is launched ..........to send shoe boxes of small gifts to children in war-torn countries or orphans who have nobody to give them presents or love at Christmas. Many schools, communities and churches take part in this fantastic gesture - called "Operation Christmas Child".

I notice they are incorprating an Olympics theme this year - most countries these boxes are going to will have representatives in their National teams. As its in London this time the organisers suggest putting small sporting items in the Christmas boxes, balls, baseball caps, key rings with logo etc. I think thats a great item - I will do an extra box with those items in.

Sorry - great idea not item!
I shall be doing my two boxes today Ann ......................... excited, as always!!
I'm sending a box for age group 0 -2 years. I've found suitable toys and toiletries but what about sweets? No chocolate allowed I and worry that most other sweets would be a choking hazard in the lower age range. I wouldn't want the child to fee left out either. Any ideas?
