It was Dad's lovely Christmas dinners that ended my vegetarian spell, but I still enjoy vegetarian food every now and again.

My dad had high blood pressure, high bad cholesterol, low bad cholesterol and started getting various health complications which were thought were nothing to do with meat and alcohol, so gave up meat and alcohol and went on a vegetarian diet for 6 months and lost a lot of weight, bp went down, cholesterol went to great places both good and bad so fo these reasons if anyone is suffering from the above it might be worth trying if you value your health and these days vegetarian foods have a great and tasty wide range compared to the previous years where my dad says all that was available was lentils and nut cutlets.

On my occasional visits to health-food shops I have noticed how unhealthy so many of the clientele look compared to those in the average queue in the butcher's, has anyone else thought this?

Lol, no. My local health shop is next to the gym so is filled with healthy looking buff guys and toned women who look after themselves unlike the butchers which is filled with various people of the normal thin to fat spectrum.

@Luno.......You have indicated that you shop at Butchers. In which category of the people that you observe do you place yourself... in your own words...'people of the normal thin to fat spectrum'.

I support Khandro on this matter. A chap worked with me and his wife owned a Health Food Store. He admitted that he went along with matters because there was good money to be earned from the shop concerned.
