Central Heating
5 Answers
I've just had my gas boiler serviced and I asked the the man if he would check the 'Diverter' in the airing cupboard if it was working as it does not move when I switch from water to heating. He said it was OK but I can't help worrying that when the central heating's on that it is overheating the
water in the boiler. Could anyone set my mind at rest? Thank you

Confirming what the others have said ..............
You may find that the diverter doesn't change over immediately if you have a thermostat on the immersion cylinder since that thermostat gives priority to the hot water circuit. If that is the way the system is wired.
When the hot water is up to temperature, then the rads will take over.
