Paper Shredders

i have a cross-cut paper shredder, i accidentally overloaded it and it has jammed. does anybody have any hints on how to unjam it? thanx

Have you tried reversing it?

reverse ..then alas it is a question of taking of top and pulling it out manually..bit by bit ..

As murraymints says, bit by bit.. I've found long nose pliers useful.

Make sure it's unplugged before poking around amongst the blades.

An old Boss of mine at BT, a man that was despised by all of us, as he ran off with the wife of someone in the office ( ! ) was using the large industrial shredder one day, and his tie got caught up in it !

I wasn't in on that day, worst luck, but somebody who was, told me all about it. He was calling for help, as his face was getting rather close to the machine, and he couldn't reach the off/reverse switch.....my informant told me that nobody moved to help very quickly that day, to help, as they were all enjoying the fun too much !
