i have just had work done on my car engine . now my dash board light a coming on and off when driving .what would cause this.

A loose connection maybe?

As James says, there are so many electric connections around the engine it could be any of them, carefully unconnect then reconnect the ones you can see.

Don't force any of them if you cannot undo them.

take it back to the people that did the work and let them put it right.(it depends which light it is these lights are usually warning lights)
