I have been up for an hour, dithering, and have conceded. The heating's now going on. I got up because I was cold.

A bit nippy today, isn't it?

The postman's just delivered my £50.00 Premium Bond win so I've turned the heating up. :-)

OG, I know it makes sense to leave it on low.

Somehow, I find it hard to do because I worry about the ensuing cost. I have plenty of money but my instincts tell me to try not to spend too much. Daft!
oo well done Tilly xx

It was a lovely surprise, Minty. :-)
i thought you had no oil/gas left
sorry tilly got waylaid no heating on as yet not that cold here
Question Author
No, Jennyjoan. I'm just too parsimonious to have the heating on unnecessarily.

Bernie, not warm enough for shorts though? You must be a tough cookie. :-)
Are you mad? £66pm = £2+pd!....presuming theyre are 2peeps in abode thats just £1+ each pd. Your health is worth more than that. Dont be silly Tilly....bump up the heat ;)

That's cheered me up, Tambo. Thank you.

(I've not looked at it that way before........what am I doing letting myself be cold?????? You are right. I must be mad.)

Off out now so I'll just turn the heat down a bit. :-))))))))

Thank you all.
I don't like it warm in the house and would just have the heating on very low. But my master and mistress are not so resilient and they say that the fur coats that they wear are not enough to keep the cold out.

When the timer clicks in the morning Frankie races out from under y duvet to stare lovingly at his radiator.

You're all very stoical, my heating's been on since Setember
Cold?
I got my usual rollocking for opening a window in the middle of the night.
My bedroom window is open whatever the weather, I can't sleep in an over-heated room.
Yesterday I changed the bed and put the thicker quilt on, went from a 1.5 tog to a cosy 4.5. We also have the window in the unheated bedroom open all year.
And I sleep in the nude...
I've had my 9.5 tog on for a fortnight now. Mr U has just put a match to the fire, he is quite happy to keep going out for more coal and/or logs.
