Contraception question!
9 Answers
Hiya. Wondered if anyone can help!?! I took the morning after pill last Wednesday after the contraception failed the night before. I'm due on within the next few days and have started to feel my tummy turning over and have slight back pain, which usually happens before my period comes. I'm due to start on the pill when I have my next period and was told its best to start then to check that the emergency contraception worked and I am not pregnant although this is not very likely at all. So anyway I'm going away not this weekend but the next with this guy I'm seeing and it would be awful for me to be on over our break away. Do you think I should definatly wait until I come on to start the pill or would if be ok for me to take a pregnany test if I'm not on within the next few days just to clarify its negative and then start the pill so I'm not on whilst we are on holiday. I know it would probably be best to wait until I bleed but as long as I'm not pregnant I have heard theres no harm in starting the pill whenever you like as long as sex is protected for 7 days afterwards. x

"how do you know your contraception failed?"
God I'm bloody dim at times!
Oh and in answer to one of your questions....there's a pregnancy test kit called First Response, than can detect the pregnancy hormone a few days before your period is due, maybe check that bit out 1st before embarking on the pill again.
ok the question i posted here yesterday was kind of pointless after all because i come on today. so im going to start taking the pill. in everyones experience were you told to start it on the first day of your period or the second? iv read its usually the first but the nurse told me the second. doesnt really matter either way but just wondering.
