I walk to and from the station at both ends on the way to work, plus 30 minutes of walking at lunch time.

Yes I do wear one and am ashamed to admit that I generally only achieve around 3,000 paces a day on my normal activity unless a specific walk is planned for exercise purposes. However I do visit the gym two or three times a week using the cross trainer and bike, but these unfotunately don't add any paces. However it's a good discipline to wear one. It certainly stares at you reproachfully at the end of the day when you check to see what you've done. My husband drives me crazy with his pedometer If he's had a low paces day, he walks up and down the room trying to achieve his daily target. It's like living with a caged tiger who is pacing his cage waiting to be fed !!
