If a meeting is to be held on 4th December, what date is fourteen days before the date of the meeting? To explain, paperwork for this meeting needs to be 'posted' to members not less than fourteen days before the date of the meeting - so what would you consider fourteen days before?

19th November.
3 days ago, 20th Nov. However that was Sunday so post needed to go on Saturday.
20th of November is a fortnight before but both dates are Sunday. So, probably should have been posted on Saturday, 19th. November or even Friday 18th.
Thirty days hath.... November so Nov 20 to my way of thinking. Too late in any case :-)
These things are usually 'finger in the air' figures. Anything with a November 21 postmark would I am sure be acceptable. Nov 23 might be pushing it
It only says 'post by' not 'arrive by'
If they mean the latter it's not what they say
it should have been posted on or before the 20th. There's no way of knowing when it will arrive, but there never is, so it would be pointless demanding that the sender gets it to arrive on a particular date.

That's the trouble, the wording in the rules should have said 'received by' rather than posted, but stuff was posted on 21st, so could not possibly arrive before 22nd.
erm if it is a company
and they havent done the posting right
you can legitimately demand they cancel 4th and do a later ( ! ) one instead
( but turn up on the 4th just to make sure )
you can't prescribe when some one should receive mail. What if it gets lost in the post? What if the recipient's on holiday? All anyone can reasonably do is put it in the postbox in good time and cross their fingers.
my first class post gets there the next day usually
