I use brown packing paper and 'tart' it up with ribbons, bows, and tiny decorations, takes twice as long to do mind, but looks really lovely (If i do say so myself) once done.
gift bags !! pop in the gift and a tab of sticky tape to close..voila..get them for peanuts in pound stores !!

thanks all - I do use gift bags - but in this instance case this is for an autistic boy who has nobody belonging to him so I am wrapping his in individual parcels. No much Murray. You know he said to sister (she told him you know Johnny) it is on a pair of socks. Yes but I will put them under my tree and I will open them on Xmas morning. So now I am going to wrap very 7 inexpensive presents so that he will be opening 8 presents that morning. Bless him.
That's a lovely thing to do jenny. Well done you! :o}
ah Conne..very kind of you xx

don't be thinking of me kind - I just feel sad for him. Mind you I must tell you a story about about him. His mother died some years ago and left him very provided for - a cuppla properties probably all over the years but he is afraid to spend money - a little eccentric. Ah well.
money does not bring happiness...a gesture like yours is worth more than money Conne..you are a good heart ! xx
The better quality and more expensive Xmas wrapping paper tends to be thicker Jenny. I bought some nice stuff from my local newsagent last year.
I find that if you buy individual sheets rather than rolls they tend to be thicker. Not expensive either.
