What Do You Do?

Am I right in assuming a lot on here are Retired? are a lot of you abled to do chores? I always find plenty to do, do you?

same as old geezer I'm unsure if I'm retired or simply unemployed.
suppose househusband fits the bill..do all the cooking and keep the place nice and tidy always got something to do

Fortunate to not have to work for about four years now. I was a bit lost at first but then I joined U3A which has opened up many opportunities. I now find it easy to keep doing something.

Currently enjoying self funded long service leave, aka unemployed with no benefits.

I'll get a job next year as six months R&R should just about do it.

I do volunteer work with a small group of high maintenance children.

(I'm rearing my kids.)

Oh, and I do the odd bit of sheeping and cowing (ie farming).

I could have retired a few years ago,but I continue to work 3-4 days a week as a cook for a homeless charity. I'm b****y shattered most of the time,but I enjoy what I do. Very few chores and little housework gets done as all my energy goes into the job.
I'm a bit nervous of retirement...

Able to do chores? Ha ha, I was up a 5ft ladder today cutting down a very tall hedge and cutting back some trees. Age is just a number.

Retired four years ago and must admit I miss my job. Miss the daily banter and funny things that happened on a daily basis. Fed up of TV (cookery programmes, antiques and repeats of quiz shows)so tend to read a lot. Looked forward to giving up work but would go back in a heartbeat if I could. Must sort something out as the thought of maybe another 10 or 20 years of this will drive me bonkers.

Forgot to say I am a retired Warrant Officer and used to go out every day in my lovely blue van and arrest people. Kevlar vest, steel toecap boots, the works. Oh what fun. Still do chores like shopping, ironing and cleaning but never, ever cook and would never been seen in the garden, The kitchen and the garden are Mr BDs domain.

If I don't do my own chores who would?
Just because I am retired does not mean that I rely on others
I shop, cook, clean, do the washing and garden
Hobbies, reading, crosswords, other puzzles, cross stitch, knitting, crochet,
poetry, letter writing and until recently volunteering
Visiting family (Southern Rail permitting)
Exploring (ditto) Try to keep in touch with AB and facebook friends, try to to trace old ones and research family history, dabble with other languages, budget
Walk
Not exactly given up on life yet

We both retired March 2003. Best days work we ever did. I have five grandchildren so there has been a lot of ferrying around and sitting.
U3A has been a life saver. Met lots of new friends. Especially two couples who we go out for meals and outings with.
I organise a lunch club for around 50 people each month at different places around the forest.
We play skittles and have a lunch each month. Go to various markets and days out. Always something to do. Love retirement.
