Do any ABers eat out on the day? If and when you've done so...what did you pay?
I don't fancy cooking....(I wonder why? )

I don't think I'd ever eat out on Christmas Day. I'm cooking Goose this year and we're having beef wellington on NYD.

He's only gone and invited his whole family on NYD :(
hi nom xx I like to stay home Christmas Day or go to mum...bit different without dad now though....we went out as a family a few times , but not the same...like to slob full of goodies ..watch telly..play with gifts...this year will just be me and oh though as brother is coming from Canada and taking mum to other brother in the west....I am estranged from my siblings after I discovered all the legal jiggery pokery they had got up to and will not be around 'till he has gone...lest there be an almighty scene ..hey ho....will let St Michael do dinner this year..ordered in the package all ready for oven !!
If you have not booked by now it very unlikely you will get a place. Most were sold out by September.
McDonald's will be open and they don't take bookings!
we had Christmas dinner at a pub in teesside last year it was about £35 per head ,the only complaint was it was huge lol
I can't think of anything worse than spending Xmas Day with a lot of strangers in a Pub somewhere. I am lucky in that I have relatives to spend the day with, and I expect I would feel differently if I was all on my own.

Just my opinion mind you !
We go to our village pub. £40. Not worth the hassle of cooking yourself.
cheapest around here is £65
My daughter and son-in-law are coming up from Southampton and with my son and family, we are going to The Hog's Head. £34.95/head and half price for my two granddaughters.
We've eaten out on the last two Christmases. Excellent service and excellent food, not cheap though - £35 a head, BUT worth it.
The thought of eating out when there is just the two of us and going to the bother for two is tempting. However, I loathe a turkey dinner and the alternatives are rarely inspiring.

To get a meal for £35 on Christmas Day is a complete bargain IMHO.
We're going to be paying £26.95 on Monday, for a three course meal at lunchtime. There's a choice of six items for each course, including traditional turkey with all the trimmings, and Christmas pud, for those who want it.
To pay £35 on Christmas Day is exceptionally good value, you wouldn't get anything like that round here.
sorry MM but I am a nosey git - but aren't you friends with your only sister. Just wondered cos it nearly happened to me and sister 6 years ago and I am very glad it didn't.
Eating with youngest sprog and grandkids Xmas day (1st time in 17 yrs.). Mr. J2 does not like chicken or duck and forces a bit of turkey down, so we're having duck and a ham joint as well. I'm i/c first course and I'm going to do some of those wonderful, frozen nibbly things as well as smoked salmon and prawns. Looking forward to it as long as we can get there and there isn't 3 feet of snow! (If so, our dinner will be the nibbly things!)
I so adore vol-au-vents anytime.
