they must've been here since mid 50s, first time i saw one was in local coffee bar, i was 13 or 14 years old, 1961/62, me and some mates would cycle there and buy a cup of tea for 3d and play the pin-ball machine, juke box was always playing, songs I remember were, 'Come Outside' - Mike Sarne and 'What a crazy World we're Living in' - Joe Brown.
According to this there were a few hundred around in 1945.
